Preity Zinta has been missing from the silver screen since a long time and she is all set to make a comeback with her maiden home production under her own production company, PZNZ Media. The film is titled ‘Ishq in Paris’ and is written and directed by Prem Soni. Though the director denies it, the rumors are rife that the film is based on a Hollywood love story Before Sunrise which was based on the romance between a young American man and French woman.

Veena Malik refuses Mohammad Asif’s plea for reconciliation

Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif was declared guilty of match fixing by the British courts on October 28. Four days before the verdict, the depressed cricketer call up his ex-girlfriend Veena Malik asking her to be with him in London. However, Veena has firmly turned down his request. She says, “It was a mutual friend from, London, Zahid Ali Saab, who called me on October 26 stating that Asif wanted to desperately see me, that he wanted a reconciliation.

Asif is a happily married man. I know his wife Sanaa. In fact, when they were getting married, she called me up to find out about my relationship with Asif. I told her to please go ahead with the marriage.”

Veena Malik performs her own stunts in her 3D horror flick

Her romance with Ashmit Patel in the last season of Big Boss kick started Pakistani actress Veena Malik’s career in Bollywood. At present, she has a 3D horror flick in her kitty for which she is currently shooting in a jungle in southern India.

Talking about the flick, Veena said: ‘It’s a 3D horror film with Telugu filmmaker Hemant Madhukar, and it’s really hard to shoot.’

‘For one, we are shooting in the wilderness. There are no luxury hotels, no daily comforts. Then it’s a 3D film, not like the other 3D films in Hindi where the 2D format is converted into 3D. We are shooting in 3D which means every shot takes hours sometimes. It’s really time consuming because I am playing both the ‘thriller’ and ‘horror’ element of the film,’ she added.

Veena detailed that she has done all the stunts in the film on her own. ‘(There’s) lots of wirework and flips and somersaults and bruises and cuts. I am roughing it out here in the jungles and enjoying every bit of it!’ she revealed.

When FHM magazine’s December issue hit the stands, it left everyone shocked as it features the Pakistani actress Veena Malik posing nude on the cover with just a fake ISI tattoo on her arms.

However, Veena denies posing for the photo shoot. You have seen me very closely… Do I look like the girl in those pictures? I have a very beautiful body if I decide to strip off and I’m not going to deny it,” she says.

“I have never posed nude for anything. I will be suing the magazine for this,” she added.

Aishwarya to make a comeback with SRK?

Post her much publicized delivery of her baby girl, Aishwarya Rai’s fans are eagerly awaiting her comeback in films. Though ll the film makers want to cast her in their projects, it is Sanjay Leela Bhansali who has managed to finalize the deal with her for the lead role in his long pending project Bajirao Mastani. Bhansali reportedly had a meeting with Aishwarya at Jalsa and reportedly Ash seemed interested in the project.

However, since Aishwarya Rai gave birth to a daughter in November and motherhood would be her first calling for a few months, the film will probably go on floors only in the second half of 2012.

Bhansali plans to cast SRK opposite Aishwarya in this project and if everything goes as planned, this would be Aishwarya’s fourth film with Shah rukh after Josh, Devdaas and Mohabbatein.

BJP leaders feel the need for censoring Sunny Leone

Ever since our Government has expressed his thoughts of censoring social media sites like Facebook, BJP leaders have raised their brows wondering why Government wants to repress social media when it is not censoring the Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone who is now on family television and is hogging a lot of limelight.

Kapil Sibal states our society is ‘not as mature as in the West’ while Anurag Singh Thakur asks, “Why do they want to censor Facebook, when they don’t censor Sunny Leone?”

A day after Communications Minister Kapil Sibal advocated screening of inflammatory or offensive content on social networking sites, Thakur said at a conference on effective legislatures organised by PRS Legislative Research, “Thousands of children are searching for her on internet and getting connected to porn sites.”

Thakur added that social media was a platform for common expression and should be allowed to grow and become mature. “Social media should be given time to get mature.There are options like watermarking.”

FHM threatens Veena Malik with a counter lawsuit

Veena Malik’s nude pose on the covers of FHM has created stirs in the last few days. The actress claims that the images are fake and she has also sued the magazine claiming Rs. 10 crores for the damages.

However, there has been a role reversal it seems, as the magazine has now sent an 11-page reply to Veena’s notice, rubbishing all her claims and even threatening a lawsuit of Rs. 25 crore.

In their notice, the magazine stated, “Your client permitted our clients for her photo as well as video shoots which were carried out by our clients with the consent and authority of your client. It would be pertinent to mention herein that your client pursued FHM magazine via photographer Vishal Saxena in October 2011 for a shoot. Your client wanted to do a sexy, bold and in-your-face shoot and to express intent for the same she also sent through Saxena pictures of her in bikinis etc, to show that she was in good shape for a shoot for FHM.”

Threatening Veena Malik with a counter lawsuit, the notice said: “It is further stated that in the circumstances our clients are free to initiate legal proceedings including filing a criminal complaint against your client (Veena Malik) for offences under Indian Penal Code besides claiming general and special damages to the tune of Rs.25,00,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Crores Only) i.e. Rs.15,00,00,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Crore Only) to the client No. 1, Rs. 5,00,00,000/- (Rupees Five Crore Only) to client No. 2 and Rs. 5,00,00,000/- (Rupees Five Crore Only) to client No.3,) and will also take any other appropriate legal action entirely at your cost, risk and consequences.”

Acting career

Riya first appeared as a child artist in the film Vishkanya in 1991, where she played the role of the young Pooja Bedi. She was scheduled to make her Bollywood film debut in Love You Hamesha, opposite actor Akshaye Khanna; however, the film was stalled, and she finally made her debut in N. Chandra's Style in 2001. Non-Hindi films

Riya has, in addition to Bollywood films, appeared in Bengali, Tamil,Telugu, Malayalam and English films. Her film career began in the earnest with Tamil films such as Bharathi Raja's Taj Mahal, co-starring Manjoj Bharatiraja in the male lead, and Manoj Bhatnaghar's Good Luck, oppsite Prasanth. Both of the films failed commercially, and she had a brief reappearance in Tamil cinema only to perform in a dance number for N. Maharajan's Arasatchi.

Her first English language movie was It Was Raining That Night, a remake of the Bengali film Hei Brishtir Raat, scripted by Sudeshna Roy and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar. In the film, she collaborated with mother Moon Moon Sen. Riya was slated to appear in Anjan Dutta's Bengali-English bilingual film The Bong Connection with her sister, but she was eventually dropped from the project and replaced by Peeya Rai Chaudhary. The two sisters were later cast together in director Ajai Sinha's The Bachelor, a Bengali film that, as of 2008, is yet to be finished.

Her most successful non-Hindi film has been director Santhosh Sivan's Ananthabhadram (2005). The first Malayalam venture for both Riya and Sivan, was both a critical and commercial success. It won five Kerala State Film Awards and surfaced as one of the biggest Malayalam successes that year. She played the role of Bhama in the film, a village girl who is lured by Digambaran, the evil magician portrayed by Manoj K Jayan. Modeling career

Riya became a popular model when she appeared in numerous music videos for songs by popular singers, including Falguni Pathak's Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi (alternative title: Chudi Jo Khankayi), Asha Bhosle's Jhumka Gira Re, Jagjit Singh and Bhosle's Jab Samne Tum and Kahin Kahin Se, Lata Mangeshkar, Bhonsle and Singh's Dil Kahin Hosh Kahin, Sonu Nigam's Jeena Hai Tere Liye and Shaan's Sutta Maro. Born on 24 January 1981 in Kolkata, West Bengal, Riya is the daughter of Moon Moon Sen, a former actress, and granddaughter of Suchitra Sen, a legend in Bengali cinema. Her paternal grandmother, Ila Devi, was the princess of Cooch Behar, whose younger sister Gayatri Devi was the Maharani of Jaipur. Her paternal grandmother Indira was the only daughter of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Baroda. Riya's maternal great-grandfather Adinath Sen was a prominent Kolkata businessman, whose father Dinanath Sen - a relative of former Union Law Minister Ashoke Kumar Sen- was the Diwan or a Minister of the Maharaja of Tripura. The sisters are credited on-screen under their mother's maiden name, although their official papers carry the surname Dev Varma.

Riya completed her schooling at Loreto House and Rani Birla College, both in Kolkata. Thereafter, she studied at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, and she took up jewellery-designing as a hobby. She designs most of the clothes that she wears in films and commercials. Riya is trained in Kathak and is still pursuing it under Vijayshree Chaudhury. She is taking kickboxing lessons and has completed Level I of the 5 levels in belly dancing. Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor are working together in Pankaj Kapoor’s forthcoming ‘Mausam’ and reports have it that all the Kapoors are getting along very well together on the sets. In fact, Shahid saved Sonam from a fatal fire accident which occurred on the sets when the two were shooting for their climax scene together.

During the scene, Sonam’s dupatta was to catch fire which Shahid was to stomp it out with his foot. However, the wind made the fire spread faster than what was expected and the fire even reached up to Sonam’s body before she could realize. However, Shahid sensed the danger and jumped in. He did stomp out the fire with such force that it completely ripped the dupatta.

Both Shahid and Sonam kept their cool after the incident and even urged to complete the shoot (with a new dupatta of course). Well, we can see two co-stars turn into great friends, if not anything more!!

Mallika Sherawat as ‘Shalu’ copies ‘Munni’ and ‘Sheila’

‘Munni’ and ‘Sheila’ have created such milestones in the field of item number that Mallika Sherawat’s new item number ‘Shalu ke thumke’ featuring in the forthcoming film ‘Bin Bulaye Baraati’ has literally copied the steps from the two hit item numbers.

Choreographer Ganesh Acharya justifies this action by saying that since the song has a line which says ‘Munni bhi maani aur Sheila bhi maani, Shalu ke thumke ki duniya deewani’, the film’s team pressurized that the trademark dance steps from the two songs should reflect in Mallika’s moves and Ganesh’s objections were quickly shouted down.

Producer Prakash Jaju also confirmed Acharya’s statement saying, “It was Anand Raj Anand’s idea, and we liked it. We offered Mallika a choice of two item songs and she chose this one. We offered the other one to Shweta Tiwari.”

However Farah Khan seems cool about all this controversy and brushes off this entire hullaboo by saying, “I haven’t seen it. Maybe they are just spoofing the Sheila and Munni steps.”

Sonam Kapoor chosen as the face of India International Jewellery Week

Visitors and media not allowed on the sets of ‘Heroine’

Post marriage Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been going slow and comfortably with her career in Bollywood. She had last faced camera nine months back for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ and is now concentrating fully on her upcoming flick ‘Heroine’.

The movie is being made by Madhur Bhandarkar who is known for the realistic touch in his flicks. ‘Heroine’ being an intense contemporary drama, rumors are already rife that the film draws references from the lives of many Bollywood stars. As such, Madhur wants to keep the script of his film under tight wraps and has banned all visitors from the sets. The producers and Madhur have not only signed a non disclosure contract with everyone but they have also banned mobile phones from the sets. There will be as many as 15 to 17 security guards stationed on the sets.

A sneak-peak into ‘Thank You’

Set for a release on April 8 this year, ‘Thank You’ is a multi starrer comedy directed by Anees Bazmee. The impressive star cast of the film includes Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Irrfan Khan, Celina Jaitley, Sunil Shetty and Rimi Sen. The film is shot in exotic locales of Canada: Vancouver and Niagra Falls.

For the first time in the movie, stylish Sonam Kapoor is paired against Khiladi Akshay Kumar and going by the photographs posted by Sonam from the sets of Thank You on her Twitter account, the pairing is impressive. Sonam’s character is that of a tennis player while Akki is a playboy who falls in love with her. Playboy cover girl, Candice Boucher, to step into Bollywood

Well, this is for the first time that a Playboy Covergirl will step into Bollywood. Talking about South African beauty, Candice Boucher, who appeared on the covers of ‘Playboy’ April 2010 issue, the girl will be making her debut as a sand artist in director Prashant Chadha’s ‘Aazaan’. Chadha had made his directorial debut with the Himesh Reshammiyaa-starrer ‘Aap Ka Surroor’

The film will have the South African bombshell paired opposite yet another debutant Sachiin Joshi. Sachiin may be yet to make his debut but he does have strong Bollywood connections.

‘Aazaan’ is an international espionage film about an informant who has to go undercover beyond enemy lines to save the nation from destruction by biological warfare.

“I never imagined myself in a Bollywood film but now I’m looking forward to its premiere. I love your country and I want to see a lot of India,” Candice said.

“While scripting the film, I felt that Candice would make the perfect mystery miss. Given that she’s a Playboy covergirl, the instant connect is, ‘She must be hot.’ She is but there’s also a certain vulnerability that makes her more appealing,” said Chadha, who is all praises for this hot body.

Seems that Hollywood has become the rescue door for our failed Bollywood actresses, who could not taste success here even with their hot and steamy skin shows. First, it was our bold and sexy Mallika Sherawat and now, it is Udita Gswami who has spent a long stay in Los Angeles and has returned only recently. During the two months she spent in the US she has made a lot of friends and acquaintances and she sees a good prospect of shifting base to Los Angeles to start her sagged acting career afresh.

Udita explains that she could not make it in Bollywood because she does not own very Indian looks and feels that she has better prospects in international arena. To kick start her career there, Udita reportedly met Danny Boyle, Gerard Butler and Danzel Washington and also attended the Oscar festivities where she met the likes of Natalie Portman and Gillian Jacobs.

Her efforts do not end here. She has hired a manager, publicist and a lawyer in the US. She has also penned a story and is turning it into a script and screenplay.

“It’s a women centric film. It’s about a girl. I’m really not sure when the film would go on the floors. If it doesn’t work in Bollywood, I am surely giving it to Hollywood,” Udita says.

Vidya Balan to take legal action against her fake bikini picture

Katrina Kaif and Sonakshi Sinha have earlier been victims of the harassment caused when their morphed pictures went round internet. A few days back, Vidya Balan was shocked to see her morphed bikini clad picture on a website. Though, now it has been clear that the picture was morphed, Vidya has decided not to sit back. The concerned magazine (on whose cover she has apparently been morphed) has been contacted and they have clarified that they have nothing to do with it.

So, Vidya has decided to go ahead with a legal suit if the culprit (who’s behind creating the picture) is pin-pointed or a re-run of such an incident occurs. “She is not going to sit tight if such a thing happens again. We are exploring legal options to stop this malice against actresses of Bollywood,” her spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, Vidya is busy these days with Milan Luthria’s ‘Dirty Picture’ which has Vidya playing a role that’s in sharp contrast to her own image. It is on the life of Silk Smitha, the voluptuous bombshell who rose to fame in the 1980s but died a lonely death after financial crisis, heartbreak, and dependency on alcohol.

“It gives me a chance to portray a real life character, Silk Smitha, a person I don’t really understand and that is an exciting thing for me as an actor. Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ could not get the cash registers ringing at the box office. However, her performance has been appreciated by all. Her next release would be ‘Don 2’ which still has months to go before it hits the screens, but the actress does not mind the waiting period and had taken a holiday abroad after the release of ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ to give a break to her grueling schedules. It may be recalled here that in the year 2008 she had six mega releases all lined up one after another namely, Love Story 2050, God Tussi Great Ho, Chamku, Drona, Fashion, and Dostana.

“People do ask me that since there is such a wide gap between ‘7 Khoon Maaf’ and ‘Don 2′ (which would release on Christmas this year), is a long waiting period hovering in my mind? Well, the answer is ‘not at all’. It is okay because sometimes one full year gone by when you have absolutely no releases in a year. This way I am at least starting and ending a year with a film of mine,” smiles Priyanka.

“In any case as an actor you can’t really plan your releases. Sometimes it is too little, at times too much,” she adds.

At present, Priyanka is busy with the shoot of a couple of films, all of which are promising enough. “Shooting of ‘Agneepath’ (co-starring Hrithik Roshan) has already started. Soon I would be kick starting ‘Barfee’ (with Ranbir Kapoor) which would be followed by ‘Krrish 2′ (with Hrithik again) in September. That should be some exciting work for an entire year. Then I can sit back and see each of these films release one after another,” smiles Priyanka.

Hrithik, Katrina, Farhan and Abhay play Holi with tomatoes!!

Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif may not have celebrated Holi with colors this year, but the two definitely enjoyed the spirit of the festival, with a difference though. The two were in Spain shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Mile Na Dobara’ and shot for an elaborate sequence based on the Tomatina Fesitval of Spain.

The scene was filmed in a town in Valencia, Spain. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani reportedly ordered 16 tons of tomatoes from neighbouring Portugal for the sequence and Hrithik and Katrina, along with co-stars Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol hurled ripened tomatoes at each other.

People from the town of Bunyol also took part in the shoot which took place on the actual time of the tomatina festival but since the shoot could not be completed in one day, this year Bunyol celebrated Tomatina for two days.

In this particular scene, Imran and Soniya’s character meet on a date and Soniya, wearing a short outfit, follows him to the men’s loo, even into the cubicle he is in. She pushes him against the wall, trying to undress him, licking and kissing him at the same time. However, the more she tries to get it on, the more he freaks out. Finally, he turns on the shower, aiming it at her. A drenched Soniya looks at him, stunned.

Deepika redesigns the ‘RK’ tattoo

Pune locals unhappy with Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’?

The shooting of Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’ seems to be upsetting lots of people. First, the workers complained that the unit was making them work for about 20 hours a day. They continued their shoot even on 26th January and finally higher authorities had to intervene to stop the shoot.

Now, Sallu Bhai has upset locals of Pune by the film’s shoot at the Pune Okayama Friendship Garden which is a favorite visiting place for the locals of Pune. But now, since the garden has been booked for the film shoot, public were denied an entry for three days.

The matter has gone so far that the Association of Friends of Japan (AFJ) has taken up the matter with Pune Municipal Corporation, which gave the permission for the shoot. According to the members of AFJ, the shoot not just damaged the facilities in the park, but the crew left a litter of garbage after the shoot. It’s a first ever film shoot in the Pune Okayama Friendship Garden.

Amrita & Tusshar on the sets of ‘Love U… Mr. Kalakaar’

The storyline of the film revolves around Sahil (Tusshar Kapoor), a cartoonist who derives his inspiration from emotions and things ranging from the sky, the earth, a scrap of paper, a passing shape, a spider’s web and Ritu (Amrita Rao), a management trainee, whose world revolves around debits, credits, turnovers, profits and deadlines. How they connect and how love blossoms between two contrasts is what the movie is all about. Being a romantic flick, the movie is aptly set for release on February 14.

We know by now that Shirish Kunder’s next production ‘Joker’ stars Akshay Kumar with Sonakshi Sinha in the lead pair. The latest addition to this news is that the second lead of the film has been finalized with sexy Minissha Lamba opposite Shreyas Talpade. in ‘Joker’. ‘Joker’ will be Shirish Kunder’s second directorial venture after ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ which starred Salman and Akshay Kumar.

The news was confirmed when Minissha tweeted on her account saying, “Gonna start filming a new movie soon… Shirish Kunder’s Joker. It’s a blessing to work with people whose work one has admired.”

Meanwhile, Minissha’s and Hollywood actor Tara Reid’s names were used by four Indians who designed the promotional material for the housing project by Santorini Development, which claimed that they had bought homes in the project.

But Minissha said she had nothing to do with it.

“I have no clue how something like this has happened. Forget about buying property in Dubai, I have not even entertained the notion yet. It is a sad state of affairs when people are duped out of their hard-earned money like this,” she said.

Wedding ringers for Kareena Kapoor? Ending much speculation, actor Kareena Kapoor says that the massive rock that she sports on her ring finger is something that she had gifted herself. “I know, everybody loves it (the huge diamond) but it’s mine. Saif has not gifted it to me,” she says.

The obvious question that comes up next is that of marriage and Kareena says that it is an eventuality for sure. “I believe in the institution of marriage and I will eventually settle down. But at this point of time, it is work which is on top of my priority list,” says Kareena.

Ask Kareena if marriage is no longer considered a taboo for heroines and she blatantly denies this. The actor feels that Bollywood still has a reservation against married heroines.

“Who are we kidding? I think that we have not reached a stage where Bollywood accepts a married heroine. Of course, there are exceptions like Aishwarya Rai and Kajol but it is the exceptions that prove the rule,” she says.

Talking about actor beau Saif Ali Khan’s kids, Sara and Ibrahim, Kareena admits that she has developed a certain bond with them which is more of friendship and easy camaraderie.

“Sara is very good at her studies and so is Ibrahim. I really admire the way they have grown up. Of course, I also admire the way they have been brought up so beautifully by their mother (referring to Saif’s ex-wife and actor Amrita Singh). The kids and I are more like friends and I am really fond of them,” adds Kareena.

The actor also fondly refers to Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore and says that she has learnt a lot from her. “She was a style icon in her days and we must also remember that the best of her performances also came after she was married. I admire the way she dresses and carries herself. She was also the numero uno heroine of her times. We have a lot of similarities,” says Kareena.

It is difficult to make it big in Bollywood unless you have luck on your side. Either you rise through the competition or lose your way out.

The career graph of many actors proves this point. ‘Gracy Singh’, does this name ring any bells? This pretty looking petite actress got her big-break in the Oscar nominated ‘Lagaan’, opposite Aamir Khan. She was appreciated for her work. An opportunity to work in an Ashutosh Gowarikar film surely made her life. She then starred in Munnabhai MBBS and Armaan. Unfortunately her luck did not seem to last too long. Asin’s Bollywood career has faced a similar fate. She made a scintillating debut in Bollywood in Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan. The movie was a block-buster hit. Asin won the award for the Best Debutante. She surely seemed to have what it takes to be an A-list actress in Bollywood- be it her good looks or acting capabilities. However her career has taken off just yet. Her second movie, London Dreams with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn was a debacle at the box office. She lost out on many movies to her contemporaries, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Sonam Kapoor. Currently she is working only on one film, Ready.

So what’s the reason for this sudden change of luck? Nothing can be done about it. But one thing is for sure. If you want to survive in Bollywood you have got to be strong enough to rise through your failures, get a grip of your career and start afresh. So wish the actors all the best.
