Akshay Kumar’s jacket torn by girls at the nightclub
As a part of the promotional campaign for his forthcoming flick ‘Action Replayy’, Akshay Kumar played DJ and tuned in to some of his favorite numbers from 1970s, but little did the actor know that he will be mobbed by the girls there at the nightclub where he was with his co-star Aditya and director Vipul Shah. Things went out of control when the girls ended up tearing his classic retro golden jacket to get clicked with him.
“The moment Akshay entered the club, there was a roar among the people present at the place… there was this bunch of young girls who insisted on clicking pictures with him but the photo session went a bit out of control and Akshay’s jacket got torn in a place,” Vipul Shah, producer-director of the movie, said in a statement.
However, sporting as Khiladi Kumar is, he laughed it off and was cool enough to be seen without his jacket throughout the remaining night.Shilpa & Preity face a setback with the termination of their teams from IPL
This Sunday, The IPL governing council (GC) Sunday terminated the contracts of Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab in lieu of the breaches committed by the team owners. Actress Preity Zinta owns Kings XI Punjab and Shilpa Shetty and her London-based husband Raj Kundra own Rajasthan Royals.
The termination of the Rajasthan Royals from IPL came as a big shock for actress and stakeholder Shilpa Shetty and team skipper Shane Warne. Shetty tweeted on the micro-bloggin site, “This is for all those who want my reaction ‘Honestly too shocked to react, just disheartened… cause it’s more than just a team for us! Still havn’t received the termination, will react after. Need to know the basis of this decision.’ In London now (sic).”
Australian spinner Shane Warne expressed his breakdown on the site tweeting, “Just woke up to news that Royals and Kings out of IPL 4, don’t know anything yet, flying back to Australia… it’s a big shock for Royals, will hopefully get to the bottom of it all (sic).”
“The Royals gave young unknown Indian players a chance and I as captain backed them and our coaching staff supported them. We were a team… What now for the youngsters? I hope BCCI (Board of Control for Cricked in India) come to their senses, fingers crossed,” he added.
Warne also wrote to Shilpa, “Hey Shilpa, please keep me posted if you hear anything, such sad news for us and our loyal fans, shattering to all.”Rani Mukherjee to find solace in Bengali cinema?
There is no doubt about the fact that with the failure of Rani Mukherjee’s ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’, her career in Bollywood shows no more hope now. So, the actress now seems to have taken a turn to Bengali cinema. And if things go in a stride, ‘Africa’ by two-time National Award winning director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury may be Rani Mukherjee’s debut in Bengali cinema. Rani has done only one Bengali film as yet, ‘Biyer Phool’ with a cameo. Rani will play the lead in this heroine-oriented flick.
Chowdhury confirmed, “Yes, I did meet Rani. We’ve had discussions but nothing has been finalised. I am still working on the script. It’s too premature to talk about it. She is one of my favourite actresses! I would like to work with her.”
Aniruddha added, “I plan on starting my Bengali film first and then the Hindi one next year. I am working on three scripts, two by noted Bengali novelist Sunil Gangopadhyaya. Sunil’s works include Dui Nari Haate Torowari and Ajaana Desh while Africa is my story. I will be visiting Mumbai in the next few days to finalise preparations for my Hindi film.”Will Vidya Balan be Krishna Shah’s Indira Gandhi?
It has been almost an year that we have been waiting for filmmaker Krishna Shah’s idea of the film on India’s late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to take a shape but without any progress because of the dearth of a female lead for the same.
Shah has put in a lot of effort into the project with detailed research of Gandhi;s life through interviews with journalists, politicians, bureaucrats, military men, writers and the contemporaries of Indira Gandhi and also books related to her life.
The movie was originally announced by Shah on Indira Gandhi’s 92nd birth anniversary on November 19, 2009 and then much talented Madhuri Dixit was supposed to play the role. Then came a long list of female stars whose names were considered for the role but nothing seemed to materialize. The list included the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.
The latest to join the row is Vidya Balan but even this could not be worked out because Balan is busy with her dates. She is playing the strong role of a pregnant widow seeking revenge in Sujoy Ghish’s latest venture based on Hollywood film Kill Bill.
If Vidya Balan gives a nod to the role, it will definitely be a visual treat to see a very strong actress portraying such a strong role…..
